Registration for our U11-U13 and U15/U17 Tier 1 and 2 tryouts are held prior to each playing season. Players interested in trying out for a youth team are required to register on-line. A non-perishable food item can be donated to the foodbank in lieu of a tryout fee. Collection boxes are available at tryouts. Once a player is offered a spot on a team the non-refundable registration fee will be collected.

Our adult program selects players through several processes, including the use of trialists from within our youth ranks. Players interested in playing for one of our adult teams are encouraged to contact our Adult Director, Rob Risling.

The Drillers Club is excited to announce the return of Dylon Powley to our club as our dedicated Club Goalkeeper Coach. He will be joining the Technical team starting this outdoor season to ensure the continued development of our goalkeepers. Dylon played youth for the U18 Boys Drillers team, coached by Mark Spillar, and was a key factor on their road to the National Championships in 2013. He is currently a member of FC Edmonton and will be part of their inaugural season in the CPL. We want to welcome Dylon and are looking forward to his homecoming.

How do we calculate our fees?

Tax Receipts

The Drillers will issue an income tax receipt for eligible fees equal to the total of the tryout and registration fees paid. Amounts paid for fundraising, uniform deposit and merchandise are not eligible fees. Amounts paid for tryouts for unsuccessful trialists are not eligible fees. Receipts will only be issued for players who are under the age of 16 at the beginning of the calendar year (typically at the U16 and younger age categories).

Fee Assistance

The Edmonton Drillers will work with families to assist with fees when necessary. We will work with parents to help submit application for assistance from the following programs:
  • Kidsport Alberta will cover up to $250 per player per calendar year (
  • Edmonton Drillers Youth Soccer Waiver - Through recommendation from the coach, the club will consider waiving club fees in certain hardship circumstances.
  • Payment Plans - The club will work with families setting up payment installments.

Refund Policy

The Edmonton Drillers Youth Soccer Club current policy for fee refunds is NO refund once the player has accepted a position on the team. The only exception to this rule is if there is a medical reason, which has developed since the player accepted a position on the team, which prohibits that player from continuing to play. A letter from a medical doctor must be provided to the club in order to obtain the refund. While we can appreciate that personal circumstances may change we have set this policy because it is impossible to properly plan and operate as a club without such a policy in place. Withdrawal from a team after accepting a position puts the club and team in the unfortunate situation of not being able to fill the position with another player.
